Contact me. | Starbucks Barista Training Every Starbucks in the US (approx. 7100 stores) closed this past Tuesday from 5:30pm -9pm for a barista retraining. Apparently the company wants to fine-tune the way their baristas make espresso and other coffee drinks. It makes me wonder:
- Has Howard Schultz been reading my blog?
- Maybe he just came back from a trip to Italy and realized that the water his company is passing off for espresso doesn’t match up.
- I’m not sure 3 hours is going to do it.
I hope it helped…I’ll have to go try one and let you know. Leave a Reply | Heading to Calabria? Need a travel consultant, place to stay or some great ideas for what to do? I will have to try something myself…and see if there is a difference. I don’t really order espresso, but there is espresso in cappuccino and cafe latte’s. I give them credit for addressing the issue….
Well,I just thought it was our little Starbucks in Beaumont that was sooo bad! I like the froo froo drinks from there, but the coffee?? Dio Mio! It is undrinkable!
wow at least they have taken action to improve standards!! That’s some operation to organise!! It will be interesting to see if it makes any difference??
Oh dear, now I know that neither Starbucks USA nor Starbucks UK know how to make a good espresso!
I don’t really understand why it is so difficult. All you need is one of the coffee machines that are omnipresent in Italy, some Lavazza or Kimbo etc coffee and ‘il gioco รจ fatto’,as they can be heard to say in Italy!
The eternal search for good coffee outside Italy continues….
All the best from Italy,
Alex
Alex. Yes,it continues and I have a feeling that it will continue to continue. I guess it’s another reason to take more trips to Italy. If we could only do something about that dollar to Euro ratio….
