I got MEMEd!

Robin at My Melange tagged me for a meme yesterday, which is new to “meme” but seems like fun. Here are the rules. {I’m updating this meme because I also got tagged by Sally at Casalba News recently and since I already posted this one… I figured: 1 stone…. 2 birds, you get the picture. I love Sally’s blog and the fact that she tried one of our family recipes:) I think you’ll like it too. I guess memes are sort of like chain letters….. sorry to anyone else who memes me going forward but I’m all memed out}

  • Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
  • Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
  • Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names and links to their blogs.
  • Tell them that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
  1. I like all types of pasta except linguini (it’s the texture)
  2. I work in my pjs from my home office for the first half of the day and then shower when I need a break. (I’m still in my pjs)
  3. I’m a fan of Bill Maher
  4. I won’t buy olive oil that is a product of a country other than Italy.
  5. I go mushroom hunting in the fall and then make them for friends (without telling them until after they eat them.) Oops!
  6. I’m a Yankees Fan and live in Massachusetts.
  7. I use my Italian passport when I go to Italy because the “non-European” line is always too long.

I’m sure many of you seasoned bloggers have been tagged before, so sorry if you’re getting this again. I won’t do a full seven but here’s goes: I’m tagging my new friends Jonny and Nikki at Sunday Sauce, my longtime friend Wendy at Get Fit Sensibly who is heading back to work soon, Katie at Olio di Oliva e Sogni di Vino because it was her birthday yesterday and Lorraine at Italian Foodies (when she gets back.)

And on a final note Happy San Giuseppe and Happy Father’s Day to all you Italian Papa’s (it’s father’s day in Italy today)

Hey…cool list!! Fun getting to know you more :) And, I would love to be a friend and the recipient of those tasty mushrooms!!!

And as a NY’er, ahem, go Yankees!!!!

  • Jilli

Nice to meet you Joe! I look forward to reading more…
Thanks for stopping by, and getting a taste of my Sicily.

Funny, we just flew out of Boston over a week ago, visiting my parents in Cape Cod. I hope the weather warms up a bit for you!

Hey Joe, thanks for the tag!! I was actually tagged with this meme a couple of weeks back and still haven’t done it so now I have no excuse:)

  • 'A Tuscan view.....from Umbria'

Enjoyed reading about ‘youyou’ I hope those PJ’s are decent. This time I’ll sign out, Amanda.

PS The Jovanotti comments are from me too, Julian isn’t quite as keen on big Jov and his beard as I am;)

Thanks Robin… there’s always enough wild mushrooms! Go Yankees. I’m all NE after that… can’t wait for next football season.

Jilli – We just booked a week in Cape Cod for late summer… we were going to head to Italy but DAMN that EURO!

Thanks Lorraine. Hope you had a fun wedding.

Thanks Amanda – The PJ’s were decent until Dexter (my dog) got a hold of them.

    Buona Pasqua a tutti! -Joe

Joe, I’m really fine with that. Actually, I’m more than fine. The chain letter thing was in my mind too.

I didn’t leave a response on your first ‘tag’ for these reasons:

1)Linguine is my absolute favourite type of pasta.

2)I work from home too, but get dressed as soon as I get up. I guess it’s OK for a bloke to see visitors in his PJs, but believe me no one wants to see me in mine.

    3) I’m ashamed to say I don’t know who Bill Maher is.

    4) I agree with you on the olive oil, but this is the first (and last) item on your list that I can relate to.

    5) I love the idea of mushroom hunting, but don’t (yet) know nearly enough about funghi to avoid poisoning myself and those I love.

    6) I know even less about American football than I do about wild mushrooms. (Or are the Yankees basketball?)

For the reasons above, I didn’t feel qualified to comment. (I was also too proud to display my ignorance!)

But, do you know what? You’ve done me a favour because I now have a clearer idea of why I don’t like these things -however good the origin.

Now I guess you are going to have to educate us Brits on the Yankees!
