When I went to Barcelona I was THRILLED to find a bagel shop... I bought a dozen, brought them back to Rome & put them in my freezer. I adored Barcelona because it felt entirely European but offered some typical "American" comforts like dunkin, bagels, and some damn good hard-core vegetarian eateries... and by vegetarian I mean places that serve more than veggies, places that are reminiscent of Cali.
That city has a great balance between historic and modern- Viva Barcelona!

I'm biased I know so please excuse me but I love England for its very Englishness. Queues, cream teas and fish and chips I could go on... I agree it has a very different vibe from it's European counterparts but that's great who wants everywhere to be the same. That's why we travel.

Your trip to Barcelona looks wonderful, you lucky thing. It really is a beautiful city. Did you go into any of the Cava bars? Great food too. - ciao Amanda

Hi Cynthia, Thanks! I didn't get the illy at Dunkin Donutes... it probably would have been a watered down version if I had. It seems like illy and Lavazza are the big global players but there are many smaller brands that are better in my opinion and much cheaper! you just can't find them in William Sonoma

Hi Sally! I know... crazy right? The McDonald's that upsets me the most however is the one across from the Pantheon in Rome... uncalled for.

Getting Lily at Dunkins I wish in Lynnfield. I just paid $14.95 at Williams Sonoma for Lily. I will remember to purchase that to take home the next time I am in Italia. Love your blog. Cynthia
