Thanks Lorraine... they do taste better in Italy. Probably because they're not flown in from across the world.

Tui, we used to have a tree in our yard too when I was a toddler and my mom says I used to sit under it and eat cherries... pit and all!

Maybe ‘Cerase’ in dialect come from the French ‘Cerise’ for cherry ?

Yum! Our local fruit vendors have been closed for August … until today. I didn’t see any cherries, but boy did I load up on fresh peaches, bananas and apricots.

I used to have cherry tree in my yard – do I ever miss it! Even sharing the crop with a lot of birds left plenty for me and my family to eat.

LOVE, LOVE cherries, only in Italy though, they taste so much better. All the cherries we have here are from the U.S. for some reason?? I have no idea why when we are in Europe, all those air miles can’t be good!Loved your post on Italian food, we are your twin here in Ireland, jarred sauces, dominos, pizza hut etc are so popular:(

I love cherries too, but when I think of it I can’t think anything they’re in except for cherry pie which I don’t really like! Go figure. Guess I’ll just have to enjoy them by themselves.

Wondering if anyone saw this: it’s a commercial of a fake Italian Restaurant.

Cherries – cherries – cherries…I absolutely love them.

So, I’m working on an attempt to get in better shape. I bought a bunch of fruit – I’m such fruit and veggie guy. I bought a load of cherries and ate them for breakfast one day. No one told me these little suckers pack such a punch in the gas department. I wrote about it on my blog – but yea, I still love the famous cherry. This little incident hasn’t altered our relationship one bit.
