I’ve seen so many fantastic photos on the blogosphere over the last year and have been impressed with the photography skills of so many bloggers. In my opinion, photos really enhance a blog and creates a greater reading experience. For me, a great photo makes emotions come alive…. so I salute all you “Fantastic Photo” takers! In particular, I want to point out 2 blogs that always go the extra mile with their photography.
- One is my good friend Maryann at Finding La Dolce Vita because of her creativity… she’s a poet in word and photo. See for yourself.
- The other is the dynamic duo (Amy &Johnny) at We Are Never Full… warning: don’t visit if your hungry. I am convinced that their photos are one step from scratch and sniff (I’ve been tempted to lick the screen on several occasions.)
With that being said, I’m going to start posting a “Fantastic Photo” once a month on Italyville (more often depending on the response.) At the end of the year I will select the top 3 photos of the year. The photos must be Italian themed (places, things, food, people, etc.) … any photo that screams Italian or Italy. If you would like to submit a photo for consideration, here’s what you need to do:
Zia Natalina
- Submit an Italian themed photo by emailing me “joe” at “italyville” dot “com” with photo attached and “Fantastic Photo” in the subject title.
- In the email, I will need your name, name of your blog and a title for your “Fantastic Photo”
- The photos have to be your own and “PG” in rating
- I reserve the right to post or not post any/all photos.
I will also be on the look-out for “Fantastic Photos” so keep up the great work!

Well that really is a fantastic photo. Is she your zia? She has such a lovely face.
I agree that Maryann certainly gives good photo and I’m off to visit We are Never Full (they sound like my kind of folk) to check it out.
Count us in with the Fantastic photo thing, I’ll be on the look out for likely opportunities. Ciao bello amanda
Great idea Joe! I just bought myself a new camera today to replace the dinosaur I had. I may submit once I learn how to turn it on and off. You may have to run this theme a LONG time though!
She is my Zia Amanda… lives here in the States now. Glad I can count you guys in:)
I’m in the same boat Scintilla! I actually have 2 dinosaurs… one just took it’s last gasp and the other works when it feels like it.
I love this idea. I’m all about the visual. And all about things Italian. I’m going to look through my photos and send a few — and I look forward to others.
Can you feel me pinching your cheeks, you little sweety?!
Anytime you see something on my blog you are welcome to it
Your Aunt is beautiful and it’s a little spooky because she looks incredibly like my mum in her youth – she was a stunner too- pity I didn’t inherit her looks. (Wish I could balance wine on my head – all I can do is drink it!)
What a great idea, Joe for the photos – please count me in too. Do you think my lovely chap with his Ape would do?
Great idea! I am going to email you a photo. I recently got a new camera and still learning how to use it. Can’t wait to see other peoples photos.
Hi Joe, I wouldn’t miss this for the world!
Joe,
A fabulous idea my friend! I will send a shot to you soon!
a presto,
Katie
